ALESSIO The Society would like to offer sincere congratulations for National and International Awards made to Adam Lyth, Alex Lees, Richard Kettleborough and Katherine Brunt. We also offer sincere condolences for the untimely deaths of Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes on 27.11.14 aged 25 and Israeli Umpire Hillel Oscar on 29.11.14 aged 55 - sadly both killed on a cricket pitch doing what they enjoyed most. Another fantastic season Indoors for Society Members and a great result for Yorkshire CCC in winning the County Championship. A great effort from Andrew Gale and his enthusiastic young squad. Once again, David Drabble managed to put together a great programme of Indoor Season meetings and attendances at the meetings have been excellent. Many thanks to all members for their continuing support. We continue to have strong support for our Annual & Autumn Dinners at Baldwin’s Omega and we thank David Baldwin and his staff for their contribution to another successful Society year. It has been a pleasure to continue our Charity Luncheons and I would like to place on record our thanks to Wilson Field for their ongoing sponsorship. Your Society has now raised over £130,000 for local Charities and we should all take pride in this involvement in our community. A big thank you to Dorothy Betts for editing this Year Book and thank you to all our contributors and our advertisers. Finally our thanks to Abbeydale Sports Club for the use of their facilities.
