Lancashire League Handbook 2013

89 Fosters Lancashire Cricket League LEAGUE PROFESSIONALS 2013 ACCRINGTON - AsharZaidi (Pakistan) Ashar returns for a third year after another excellent season in 2012. His all-round contribution of 625 runs and 83 wickets, the most wickets by an Accrington professional for 22 years, played a huge part in the club winning the Holland Cup for a second consecutive season. Equally important he proved very difficult to score off and his economy rate of 2.48 runs per over was bettered only by Qaiser Abbas at Todmorden. The Accrington supporters will be hoping for more of the same in 2013. BACUP -Aubrey Swanepoel (SouthAfrica) Bacup have signed South African all rounder Aubrey Ryan Swanepoel as their new professional for the 2013 season. The 23 year-old off spinning all rounder plays for Griqualand West alongside former Church professional Neil Bredenkamp and last season's paid man at Rawtenstall, Jandre Coetzee. The former SouthAfrican Under 19 star has hit 2251 runs at 32.15, with five centuries, and eight half centuries since his First-class debut in 2007. His highest score is 138. He has also taken 64 wickets with an average of 33.92 with his best figures being 4-37. Swanepoel is the club's sixth SouthAfrican professional. BURNLEY - AdnanRasool (Pakistan) Burnley CC have re-signedAdnan Rasool after a very successful first season. He was only a few wickets shy of 100 league wickets and scored over 400 runs. A relative unknown in England prior to his signature he has recently been selected for Pakistan "A" and were it not for SaeedAjmal would certainly be very close to full national honours. An all round quality professional who takes great pride in his performances and a well liked person by all at Burnley Cricket Club. We look forward towelcomingAdnan back in 2013. CHURCH - KasumBodhisha (Sri Lanka) Church have signed Kasun Bodhisha as their professional for the 2013 season. Kasun is the second Sri Lankan cricketer to sign as professional, following in the footsteps of Ruvin Pieris who was at the Club between 2004 and 2007. Kasun, an opening left handed batsman and slow left arm bowler, has played 53 first class matches and scored over 4,000 runs and has 5 years experience playing in English cricket leagues. In his last two seasons in England as professional at Hartlepool Cricket Club, Kasun scored 2169 runs and took 104wickets. COLNE - ShadleyVan Schalkwyk (SouthAfrica) Shadley returns for a second season at the Horsfield. Colne had no hesitation in resigning him following his efforts in 2012.
