90 Fosters Lancashire Cricket League LEAGUE PROFESSIONALS 2016 ACCRINGTON - Ockert Erasmus (Boland, South Africa) Ockert returns for a third season at Accrington after making 1058 runs and taking 70 wickets in 2015. He made 2 centuries and five other scores over 50 and had 5 five wicket hauls with a best of 7 for 46. BACUP - Haseeb Azam (Pakistan) Bacup welcomes Haseeb back for a third consecutive season. With two years experience of life in the Lancashire League under his belt he returns determined to improve the club’s league position and to have a positive impact on the development of the amateurs. BURNLEY - Chris Holt Chris returns to Burnley for a third season following the Clubs record breaking 2015 season when he made 646 runs and took most wickets within the League with 82. He had 5 five wicket hauls and made 4 scores of 50 or more. CHURCH - Zain Abbas (Pakistan) For the 2016 season the new professional will be Zain Abbas, a 23year old left handed opening batsman/right arm bowler. Zain had an outstanding season in the Bolton League in 2015 breaking the Little Lever batting record which had stood for 21 years. In total Zain scored 1350 runs during the season at an average of nearly 90 with 5 centuries and 8 half centuries. In Pakistan Zain plays First Class cricket for KRL who are captained by former Church Professional Saeed Anwar. Zain’s prolific form with the bat in the Pakistan First Class domestic cricket competition has led to his selection for Pakistan A and in January and February 2016 he will be representing his country against England A. COLNE - Yaseen Vallie (South Africa) Yaseen is an accomplished top order batsman/spinner from South Africa’s Western Cape. A prodigious talent at age group level, Yaseen represented South Africa in the 2008 U19 World Cup. On his return from the tournament he was brought in to the Western Province set up where he was a consistent selection for over 5 years. In that time, Yaseen went on to represent his province’s franchise, the Cape Cobras. In 2015, Yaseen took up an offer from the Chevrolet Warriors to join them in the Ram Slam T20 which subsequently led to an offer to relocate to Port Elizabeth to join the southern-most franchise full time. A proven performer with the bat, Yaseen currently averages just shy of 40.00 at First Class level, with a record of 10 centuries and 18 half centuries, and his right arm spin bowling will be well suited to league cricket in England
