More details will be released shortly. Colin Miller Colin has been offered terms by the club for the 1996 season. l50th Anniversarv In 1996 Aocrington Cricket Club will be 150 years old A sub committee has been formed to orgmise events. One possibility is a booklet to follow up the book produced in 1946 to celebrate the clubs Centenary" Results and Performances. There have been several individual first's in recent weeks. Paul Barrett notched his maiden Lancashire League century in scoring 103 not out ia batting tlroughout the innings at Rawtenstall. Scott Taylor, Scott Greaves and Wayno Roberts have all scored their maiden 50's for the club. In the 3rd )il garne against Brookhouse on the lst Julp Scott Taylor (58no) and Tom Pendergast (8) oreated a North East Lancashire league record for the l0th wicket with a stand of 77. David Stubbs took 7 for 4'9 against Husssnia. The 2nd )([ have had some encouraging performanees with wins over Rawtenstall and Todmorden. The 3rd )O have also begun picking up mo{e points in recent weeks. Although the 4th )([ remain the bottom of,the Leagug there have been some good performances from the younger players - Adm Greenwood, Lnran Hussain, Iffan Rashid, Mark Booth" Adtrn Banes and James Smith. Mmk Taylor has been appointed 4th }(I Captain until the end of the ssason. Under 13's Steve Greenwood's Under 13's have just scored their fust win of the soason with a good all round team perforrnance to beat Salesbury. Damian Cunliffe took two wicksts for no runs in his two overs. Home furtures are played on Friday dghts. The regular players are Adam Greenwood, DmnianCunliffe Abbas and Sajad Sadiq, Paul Chaplow, Matthew Pilkington, Richard Swanney and Kamran Khan. $ocial Events This years Treasure hunt will be on August 4th. Those back in time will be able to enter the monthly quiz on the same night. On Wednesday 23rd August firere will be a Casino niglrt at the Berkeley, run in conjnnction with Accrington Rugby League Club. Tickets will be priced at 95.00.
