Accrington Cricket Club Junior Parents Newsletter June 1996 Introduction to vour club. Accrington Cricket Club was formed in 1846. In 1877 the club moved to its prcsent home. Acrrington have been l,mcashire League Champions five timrx and the club has a trernendous reputation for developingjrurior talent. ln the not too distant pas! two juniors, Graham Lloyd and Bob Ratcliffe, have gone on to play for the county. Two more, Graerne Fowler and David Lloyd have gone on to play for England- David is ofcourse, the current England Coach- Coachine The club has five coaches qualified to the Nationa.l Cricket Coaching Certificate Standard- They are Ahwea Burrows, Russell Edmonds, David Pickering, Nigel Stockley and Mike Wilson Junior Prar-tice Night is on a Monday. A comprehensive history ofAccrington Cricket Club, the book also includes details ofJunior succe*1 wilh a photograph ofthe 1995 Whitehead Trophy winning Under 13 team and a feature called 'Stars ofthe Future' *,hich looks at some ofthe club's talenled youngsters.
