The sheet will advertise the match ball sponsor and at the last home fixture of every month, a newsletter will appear on the reverse side. The planning application is due to be heard shortly. RESULTS & PERFORMANCES Tariq Hussain took 5 for 51 in the tied game with Enfield as the 1st XI continue to improve. 2nd XI results have also improved with wins over Enfield, Todmorden, Rishton & RaMenstall. Key performers have been the bowlers with Kazar Shazad leading the way with 8 - 26 at Rishton, Duncan Warburton 6-26 at Enfield and lbrar Raja 5-42 at Todmorden. Alistair Cunliffe made 75 at Todmorden & Martin Whittle had a quick 51 in the rain affected game against Rishton. A rare outing for the 3rd Xl resulted in a comfortable win over Bumley. Alistair Cunliffe, called up as a late replacement starred with 96 not out. The'I( Teams march continues. Two crushing victories over nearest challengers Supreme Frames have opened a ten point Iead with only four matches left to play. Today they play in the North East Lancs League Cup at St Francis. JUN]OR CRICKET Steve Greenwood's Under 15's have been on the wrong side of some very tight finishes in recent matches. The outstanding bowler has been Richard Swanney. Adam Greenwood has been the pick of the batsmen. Other promising performances have been fumed in by Mohsin Ahmed and Matthew Pilkingrton. FORTHCOMING EVENT Saturday 6th September CHAIRMAN'S NIGHT MILESTOTIES Duacan Warburton took his 500th 2nd )(I wicket for the Club in the game at Enfield on 29th June. The 2nd Team skipperhas now bagged a total in excess of 800 wickets at all levels since joining the Club in 1973. Stefan Heins scored his maidm Lancs Leagu€ half century at Rawtenstall The 'A' Team becarne the first Accringtor te4m to reach the Harry Wood Cup final since 1956. Last weekend tle club boasted five wins otrt of five as all four senior sides triumphed Russ Retums Cricket Chairman Russ Cuddihy returned to action on July 8th when he appeared for Peter Sleep's Accrington Xl against a touring side of veterans from Adelaide, Australia which included former Test stars Terry Jenner and Eric Freeman. Russ turned back the clock to play an innings containing hard hit boundaries mixed with some quick-ish-ish singies. Peters team enjoyed a comfortable victory on a glorious afternoon. Beyond the Boundary ln July next year, a major exhibition under the above ti- tle which is about the Lan- cashire League is to be staged by the Horse & Bam- boo Theatre in Waterfoot. We have been asked, together with all other Lancs League Clubs to nominate our all time greatest Accrington team and also to name our greatest ever player- We are therefore inviting our members to select their own favourites and send them to Nigel Stockley, 10 Moss Hall Road or care of the bar in the Clubhouse.
