Accrington Cricket Club February 1998 Newsletter Forthcoming Social events The Social Committee have been busy putting together a busy and varied prografilme of events for 1998. Already this year a 1970's night and a Northern Soul Night have proved to be popular. Please remember these functions are arranged for the benefit of the Club and it's members and support them whenever possible. The Club will be having it's own stall and would appreciate the donation of any unwanted items of bric-a-bracJoys, books etc. Refreshments will be available from the Tea Room. Treasure Hunt The search for clues will start at 10 a.m. on Sunday 29th March from the Car Park. Four to a car f"3 per persoil. Lunch (or even Tea\Supper) will follow at the end ofthe Hunt. Summer Draw This year we will be holding a Summer Draw in place of the Christmas raffle. The draw will take place during the Family Fun day scheduled forMonday 31st of August. Photographs A selection of photographs from recent social gatherings and last years presentation evenings are on display in the clubhouse. They may be purchased for 50 pence each from Nigel Stockley Sponsored IilaIk Sunday 5th April at l0:30 a.m. *om the Club come rain or shine. All players, both senior and junior are expected to take part to walk or run the 'Rabbit Run'. Professional 1998 The Club has engaged the services ofRyan Campbell of Western Australia. Ryan will be the Club's l9th Australian professional and our third from Western Australiq following Les Varis in 1972 & Daryl Smith in 1982.
