2 Accrington Cricket Club Players Meeting There will be a players meetrng on Thursday 5th March in the clubhouse at 8:00 p.m. All players are expected to attend. The new rule changes will be outlined in detail. Appointments Bill Rawstron has been re-appointed as lst Team Captain for 1998. Mark Stevenson, David Kennedy & Mchael Donnelly will take charge of the Znd 3rd & 'A' Teams. Congratulations to Chairman Russ Cuddihy on his appointment as Lancashire League Youth Development Officer. Development A planning application has been made to erect a new toilet block on the Whinney t{ill end of the Clubhouse, incorporating a new entrance. FloodEghts have been installed next to the tea- room and on the car park. Beyond the Boundary This exhibition on the tancashire League by the Horse & Bamboo Theatre at their base in Waterfoot will open on August 15th and run for a moath. The exhibition will contain a Time Tunnel History of the League, a Video Roorn of recorded stories from local people made by Alick Ormerod, a display of carnival masks and costumes of the leagues all time greats and a feature on West Indian cricket writer C.L.R. James Storm Damage : Sponsor Boards have been blown down in the recent stoflns at the Huncoat End of the ground. These will need re-siting and repairing before the start of the season. Help will be needed with this and other tasks around the ground in preparation for the coming season League Cricket Review In April, the League Cricket Review will begin it's second season. Those of you who have seen or read the magazine will know that it covers all the action in league cricket in the North West, as well as special features on umpiring, coaching, groundsmanship, history, junior and women's cricket. There are reviews of books which are particularly relevant to the North West and plenty of competitions with great prizes.
