RESJLTS ANP PERFOBI{ANCBS The past month has seen some record breaking performances from our players and our teams. Mark Bailey continues to impress, his three centuries in four innings for the club has never been achieved before. Mark should become only the seventh player in the club's history to pass 1000 runs for the season, the Iirst being his namesake Jim in 1937. Up to Sspternber last year the last club record stand for mry wicket was set back in 1938. Since then three new ones have been created two in the past month. Tariq Hussain and Zahid Afzal set a new 8th wicket record putting on 85 against Lowerhouse on July 10th. Eight days later, Mark Bailey and Masook Ahmedput on ?21 at Rislrton to set a new 3rd wicket record and also equal the all time club record set by Alan Lund and Roy Dewhurst back in 1951 .The team score of 238 - 5 that day was also a new club record for League limited overs matches Seven days previously at Haslingden, the teams wins that began at score of 219 - 6 was the Salesbury on June 24th. clubs fourth highest ever MERCHANDISE in overs oricket. MAYORAL STX A SIDE CQMPETITION The flnal of the Preliminary Competition will be held next Friday beginning at 6 . 30 pm. Following the reluctance of our neighbouring clubs in the Lancashire League to enter the main competition, this will now be held at the following event: FAMILY TUN DAY This will again be held on Bank Holiday Monday, August 30th. He$ is desperately needed to make the event as successfirl as lastyears. Prizes are needed for the Tombola and oakes for the CakE Stall. 'fhere will be a Car Boot Sale from 10 am on the day. Once again there wi{be aKwik Cricket competition, bowls, a penalty comp, bouncing castle and various stalls and fun and games.
