Craig Jennings (3-46) and Pakistani Kashif Hussain (2-58) gave Dunstall the advantage early on, reducing Quarndon to 14 for 3, but Nathan Dumelow improved matters by dominating a fourth wicket stand of 80 with a subdued Mohammed Sultan. Thereafter Dumelow fought a largely lone, but belligerent, battle to keep the innings afloat on his way to a superb 116 off just 127 balls. He smashed 8 sixes and 10 fours along the way but the scoreboard still only read a modest 193 for 7 by the time the fiftieth over had been bowled. Mat Dowman (3-47) proved a tricky customer after the break and Dunstall slipped to 68 for 3 but Matt Benstead (68*) and John Jennings (34) settled things down with a fine partnership of 51 for the fourth wicket. There was still work to do on Jennings' departure but Benstead remained solid and saw his side across the line with five wickets in hand and seven balls to spare. His innings featured a six and 8 fours and spanned 120 deliveries.
