Dave, on behalf of the BBC in Yorkshire, provides Internet commentary on every Yorkshire game in addition to 31 daily reports for five BBC local radio stations. As he reveals here, the 2014 campaign was a season to cherish in the main form of the game. As I write this article, the celebrations have at last ended and the hard winter job of building up physical fitness has begun for the Yorkshire cricketers. So, all signs now point to April 2015 and the defence of the title. The success of 2014 was richly deserved. Yorkshire were by far and away the best team in the Championship and went on to collect their first Championship under the excellent stewardship of Martyn Moxon and Jason Gillespie . Their success is all the more remarkable considering England had first call on Root , Ballance and Plunkett for much of the campaign.
