25 Sheffield Cricket Lovers’ Society www.sheffieldcricketlovers.org.uk 24th April Paul Shaw, Head of England Women’s performance was accompanied by England Ladies’ fast bowler Katherine Brunt for our final meeting of the season. Paul started by going through the performance of the Women’s team who had a very successful season winning the ‘Ashes’. This has a somewhat different format to the men’s in that they include all forms of the game . One Test, Three ODI.s and Three T20.s each bringing points for a win and the aggregate points over the series determine the winner. Paul’s recollection of the results, and individual performances throughout the campaign was quite remarkable. Katherine, who was recovering from a back operation, said how delighted she and the other players were that they are now fully professional and contracted players. She is looking forward to making a full recovery and playing again soon. In the meantime she was happy to have access to all the facilities at Loughborough. Both contributed to a fascinating question and answer session and provided us with a most enjoyable evening. We wish them well for the coming season
