21 Once again the virus caused problems, ruling out guests Dickie Bird (testing positive) and Richard Kettleborough (awaiting a test result). In addition, President of SCLS, Sir Michael Parkinson CBE, couldn’t travel owing to a back injury. Yorkshire CCC Chairman Lord Patel and Coach Darren Gough had to send their apologies as they were required to fly to India to finalise a sponsorship deal. Happily we were delighted to welcome YCCC President Geoff Cope, Ted Hemsley and Tony Currie (SUFC), the late Harry Gration, Speaker Rob Nolan and Steve Loane, also from SRSB. Sir Michael was most anxious about missing the event and made the splendid gesture of donating £500 to the Society. Our 60th Annual Dinner - postponed because of Covid 19 - was held at the modern and well appointed Owlerton Event & Conferencing Suite Owlerton Stadium on 4 April 2022.
