Timperley CC Minute Book 1879-1880 (Transcribed)

June 9 th Committee Meeting Present Messrs Towle, Dixon, J.Bell, S.Thompson, Birch, W.Owen and the Hon. Secretary. Minutes of the last meeting read and passed and agreed by Chairman (Mr.Towle). The Hon. Secretary reported ???Parbold, who grazes the field was willing to take the grass away if it was cut and the ground steward reported that ????? wanted 34/- for cutting the grass and hedge, and their man asked 28/-, but that he could get a man to cut the grass only for 10/-. It was decided to leave the hedge as it is for the present and it was proposed by W.Dixon seconded by Mr Owen ‘That the grass be cut forthwith at a cost of 10/’. Carried. The reading of the Hon. Secretary’s estimate of receipts and expenditure for the year was postponed until the next meeting. The eleven for Saturday June 12 th was completed and captain (W.Dixon) selected. The ground committee for Saturday next was also chosen viz Messrs Hill, Arnold & Birch. The Eleven for Saturday June 19 th verses Sale 2 nd was selected viz Messrs Luckman, Dixon, Hill, S.Thompson, White, Arnold, Hardy, Lloyd, R.Daniel. W.Owen and Morrison. A second eleven for Saturday June 19 th verses Alexandra Park at Timperley was also chosen viz J.Bell, W.Thompson, C.Davis, Kay, Birch, A.Daniel, E.Dowling, Fitton, Whitfield, Cookson, Collier. Geo.
