Proposed by W.Hill seconded by W.J Towle ‘That the ground committee be requested to assist the captain in the preparation of the wicket previous to a match’. Agreed. Proposed by A.Birch seconded by W.Bell ‘That Lawrence Belshaw (?) Manchester Road Altrincham be a member of the club. Agreed. Proposed and agreed that H.Dixon be re-elected member of the committee otherwise disqualified by non-attendance and that R.Daniel likewise disqualified be struck off and F.Hardy re-elected in his place. The Eleven for Saturday July 17 th to play at Levenshulme was filled up. The 2 nd Eleven match for the same day was cancelled in consequence of a communication from the ‘De Trafford’ club requesting its postponement. The eleven for Saturday July 24 th to play at Timperley v Northenden was selected by ballot viz Messrs Hill, Dixon, Kay, Luckman, S.Thompson, Towle, W.Thompson, J.Bell, J.R White, W.Arnold, Hardy. W.J Towle Chairman July 21.80. July 21 st Committee Meeting Present Towle, Rudman, S.Thompson, J.Bell, Birch, Hill and the Hon. Secretary. The minutes of the last meeting read, passed and signed by the chairman (Mr Towle). The Eleven for Saturday next filled up. The Eleven for Saturday July 31 st to play against Eccles at Eccles selected by ballot viz Messrs Hill, Dixon, Kay, S.Thompson, W.Thompson, Manock, White, Arnold, Birch, Rudman and J.Bell. The Eleven for Bank Holiday August 2 nd selected by ballot viz Messrs Hill, Dixon, Towle, S.Thompson, Arnold, W.Thompson, Manock, Rudman, White, Kay and J.Bell. Some conversation arose as to whether R.Cookson was eligible for selection in 1 st Eleven matches, but it was understood that as his duties were to score and look after the materials for the 1 st Eleven, only in case of emergency should he be eligible to play in the 1 st Eleven. The Hon. Secretary proposed, seconded by R.Rudman ‘That no business be transacted after 9.50pm and that the selection and management of teams be taken immediately after the ???? of the minutes of the previous meeting’.
