TImperley CC Yearbook 2019

i Introduction This yearbook attempts to summarise some of the data I have researched on Timperley’s playing history since 1877 and also reflect on the 2018 playing season. All available club scorebook records have gone onto the clubs play-cricket on line database and form part of the history. These records are complimented by other on lines sources such as the Manchester Guardian archive on the Trafford Libraries website and the British Newspaper Archive. These records are patchy with many missing games which is disappointing. The bulk of the historical record (pre 1980) was obtained from microfilmed copies of old newspapers held at various libraries around this area and this record tends to focus primarily on 1 st & 2 nd XI cricket to provide the fullest records. New historical information is still coming to light but is becoming more difficult to locate. I would like to thank John Wood and Brian Jackson for sharing information on their playing careers. I hope that you find the year book interesting. The 2018 edition was well received by the membership and I hope that you will receive this edition as positively.
