123 HARRY TOMLINS KNOCK-OUT COMPETITION Rules 1. The name of the competition will be the HARRY TOMLINS TROPHY. 2. Each club may enter one team. Withdrawal after the draw has been made will be treated as non-fulfilment of fixture as per League Rule 2.5(vi). 3. Organisation (i) ii The draw for the competition will be made by the Management Committee at its January meeting. (ii) i Seeding will be used based on final league table positions for the previous season. 4.Eligibility of Players (i) All players must be registered with the club in accordance with League Rule 5.2 (ii) A player with a Premier League club shall not be eligible if he has played the majority of his Saturday cricket in that League during the current season. (iii) No player who has played for a club in the competition is eligible to play for another club in the competition in the same season. 5. Arrangement of matches (i) ii All matches shall be played on the appointed date, as arranged by the League Management Committee. (ii) i Should weather prevent the game being played on the appointed date for the round a replay must be attempted on or before the following Sunday. (iii) In the event of a result still not having been reached, the winner of the match shall be decided upon the toss of a coin. (iv) The home drawn club may surrender this advantage if it so wishes, subject to agreement by the opposing club. (v) i A postponement due to adverse playing conditions may be made by the home club only with the agreement of the away club. (vi) The venue for the final will be chosen by the Management Committee. 6. Umpires (i) ii Neutral umpires, appointed by the Hon. Umpires Appointments Secretary will officiate in all matches. (ii) i Their fees shall be in accordance with League Rule 6.3 and the cost will be shared by the clubs concerned, except in the Final, when it becomes the responsibility of the Management Committee. (iii) The home club shall notify the Hon. Umpires Appointments Secretary of dates agreed to play matches in each round of the competition. 7. Match Regulations (i) All matches will start at 2.00 p.m. unless mutually agreed. (ii Each team shall be allowed 40 six-ball overs or until the batting side is dismissed. (iii) A time limit of 2 hours 30 minutes shall be allowed for each side to bowl 40 overs. (iv) A variation in time of 3 1 /2 minutes per over shall be made if less than 40 overs are scheduled to be bowled. (v) Umpires shall make due time allowance for one drinks interval per innings, if taken, and for unavoidable stoppages caused by injury or other extenuating circumstances.
