25 BASSETLAW & DISTRICT CRICKET LEAGUE 3 YEAR – 5 POINT DEVELOPMENT PLAN Statement of Intent From January 2012, the League Management Committee of the Bassetlaw & District Cricket League will work in partnership with local sponsors and other facilities within the community to create initiatives and open a pathway by means of the following five point development plan to: • Reduce the out-going costs of playing cricket at the recreational level for all clubs throughout the league. • Open new opportunities for clubs to receive information and knowledge to improve their playing surfaces, along with general ground standards. • Develop opportunities for young players to receive quality coaching at a local venue. • Seek options for increasing the number of qualified coaches at clubs to make them more self- sufficient. • To maintain and where achievable, raise standards in all aspects of the game for everyone involved, including umpires and scorers.
