42 6.3 Payment of Umpires (i) (i) Each appointed umpire shall, not later than the end of the tea interval, be paid match expenses of £35. 00, the cost to be shared by both clubs concerned. Should there be no play in the game, following the arrival of both teams and the umpires at the ground, the match expenses of the umpires shall be £15 each, shared by the clubs concerned. (ii) Any such expenses shall be paid by the away club if, due to the condition of the ground, no play is possible, and that club has insisted on travelling against the advice of the home club. (iii) In the event of the match being cancelled in accordance with Rule 2.5, but the appointed umpires, not having been told of the cancellation, arrive at the ground at the agreed time of start, they shall be paid full match expenses by the home club. (iv) In the event of only one registered League umpire being appointed to, or turning up for a match, and that umpire takes the bowling end throughout the match, he shall be paid match expenses plus £10. (v) There shall be an annual review of Umpires expenses, carried out by a group constituted by Members of the League Management Committee and the Umpires Association, the findings of which shall be binding. 6.4 Provision of Umpires Any club wishing to join the League, shall provide one umpire for each team it wishes to enter into the League. All such umpires should be acceptable to the Bassetlaw & District Umpires Association and should not be drawn from the existing pool of umpires. (The Management Committee appeals to all existing clubs to make every effort to provide at least one umpire for each team entered in the League) 6.5 Assessment of Umpires (i) Umpires in the Championship League and Division One shall be confidentially assessed by captains on their performance in every match, and the report submitted to be received within five days of the match. Progressive fines, none exceeding £20.00, shall be imposed for non-compliance with this rule. A sanction of a 1 point reduction from any team’s Divisional total in the relevant season, shall be imposed for each match in which there is non-compliance with this rule. (ii) Discretionary reports may be submitted by captains in other Divisions. (iii) The Discretionary Report Form shall be used if any club has an objection to the conduct of an umpire under Rule 7.1.
