208 The Nottinghamshire Cricket Board The Nottinghamshire Cricket Board is the governing body of recreational cricket within the county. We strive to promote and support cricket at all levels in partnership with Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club, the Trent Bridge Community Sports Trust, our local clubs, all professional and recreational cricketing bodies, and local councils and organisations. In addition, the Board manages the Nottinghamshire Cricket Board Premier League, Nottinghamshire’s most prestigious cricket league which boasts a regular presence of current and former first class cricketers. Almost 200 clubs in Nottinghamshire are affiliated to the Board. Affiliation Package A package of benefits has been constructed to provide good value to clubs that choose to affiliate themselves to the Nottinghamshire Cricket Board. Each affiliated club contributes an annual fee of £35.00 for one team, plus an additional £5.00 per team to a maximum overall total of £50.00. Clubs receive the following benefits when they become affiliated to the Nottinghamshire Cricket Board: • Regular newsletters featuring competition, funding and event information. • Specific information for groundsmen, coaches, umpires and scorers. • Automatic affiliation to the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). • An understanding of the Board’s primary aim i.e.: to support and develop the game. • A clear set of NCB Recreational Council rules for the game (see Handbook). The Board has access to six full-time Community Officers who work on behalf of the Board, a number of part-time paid professionals and a dedicated group of volunteers. Affiliated Clubs can access subsidised courses for education and leadership in cricket development, coach education and scorers, umpires and officials development.
