44 (ii) In order to keep the number of teams in each Division as per Rule 1.1(iii) b), relegations will be made of the teams finishing at the bottom of each Division, up to a maximum of three. (iii) In the event of two or more teams finishing the season on the same number of points, the matter shall be resolved by the following criteria, taken in order: a) The number of matches won. b) The number of points achieved from winning draws. c) The net run rate. d) The toss of a coin. (iv) A team shall forfeit promotion in favour of the next eligible team if such promotion would result in a contravention of Rule 1.1(iii) c). (v) Should the relegation of a team result in a contravention of Rule 1.1(iii) c), the team in the lower Division that season shall be demoted, irrespective of its finishing position, instead of the team in the highest relegation position. (vi) The bottom two teams of the lowest Division at the end of the season shall apply for re-election to the League. Such applications shall be in writing and received by the League Secretary by the last day of September. 2.4 Fixtures (i) Fixtures will be played on dates arranged by the Fixture Secretary. (ii) A club’s league fixtures will take precedence over any other match. (iii) Each club shall fulfil its fixtures with teams selected on merit, subject to player availability. (iv) The Fixture Secretary will publish all League Fixtures to all clubs by a date in October each year. Clubs will be allowed up to three amendments (arranged between them) and returned on a pro forma to the Fixture Secretary by the 31 st October each year. Where clubs cannot agree upon a desired amendment, a submission should be made to the LMC, whose decision shall be final. Clubs with a 3 rd XI may be allowed additional flexibility with the consent of the Fixture Secretary. Final fixtures will be made available to Clubs via email and published via the BDCL website and the BDCL ECB Play-Cricket website. (v) Fixtures shall be made for each Saturday between late April and mid- September, including one Bank Holiday. Other Bank Holidays during the season shall be used as required. (vi) In exceptional circumstances, the Fixture Secretary may arrange fixtures to be played on Sundays. (vii) Where, for any reason, there are more than twelve teams in a Division, the clubs in that Division shall be balloted to ascertain whether each team should
