68 could be held liable. When in doubt, or if the Captains disagree, then play should not take place. Captains are encouraged to report incidents where the actions of players in terms of their behaviour, language and/or conduct is such, that it is felt that the relevant players should be reported to the LMC under its Code of Conduct. 6.3 Payment of Umpires (i) Each appointed Umpire shall, not later than the end of the interval, be paid match expenses of £35.00, the cost to be shared by both clubs concerned. Should there be no play in the game following the arrival of both teams and the Umpires at the ground, the match expenses of the Umpires shall be £15.00 each, shared by the clubs concerned. (ii) Any such expenses shall be paid by the away club if, due to the condition of the ground, no play is possible, and that club has insisted on travelling against the advice of the home club. (iii) In the event of a match being cancelled in accordance with Rule 2.5, but the appointed Umpires, not having being told of the cancellation, arrive at the ground in time for the scheduled start time, they shall be paid full match expenses by the home club. (iv) In the event of only one registered League Umpire being appointed, or turning up for a match, and that Umpire takes the bowling end throughout the match, they shall be paid full match expenses plus £10.00. (v) There shall be an annual review of the Umpires expenses, carried out by a group constituted by members of the LMC and the BDUA, the findings of which shall be binding. 6.4 Provision of Umpires Any club wishing to join the League shall provide one Umpire for each team it wishes to enter into the League. All such Umpires should be acceptable to the BDUA and should not be drawn from the existing pool of Umpires. The LMC appeals to all existing clubs to make every effort to provide at least one Umpire for each team entered in the League. 6.5 Assessment of Umpires (i) Umpires in ALL Championship and Division 1 matches shall be confidentially assessed by Captains on their performance in every match, by completing the ‘Umpires Assessment Form’ available via the BDCL website. All reports submitted are to be received within five days of the match. A sanction of a 1 point reduction from any team’s Divisional total in the relevant season shall be imposed for each match where there is non- compliance with this rule.
