7 The John J. Mallen t20 Trophy – Rules & Playing Conditions 91 The John J. Mallen t20 Trophy Shaded Areas denote rule changes from the previous year. Rules and Playing Conditions apply with the exceptions/additions as varied hereunder. Rules & Playing Conditions 1 Title The title of the Competition shall be the John J. Mallen t20 Trophy. 2 Entry (i) The competition is open to all member clubs. (ii) Each member club may enter one team. (iii) Member clubs are required to submit their application to the League Secretary prior to the LMC meeting in January of each year. (iv) Withdrawal after the draw has been made will be treated as non-fulfilment of fixture and the club will be fined £10.00 for each match affected and will be immediately eliminated from the competition. The game shall be counted as a win for their opponents. 3 Organisation 3.1 Constitution (i) The draw for the competition will be made by the LMC at its January meeting. (ii) Teams will be drawn in Groups based on geographical location in order to minimise travel and will play each other team once on a tournament basis. (iii) In Group Matches, two points shall be awarded for a win, one point for cancelled matches and no points for a loss. The team winning each Group will go forward to the finals day. This will extend to best placed runners-up should there not be sufficient Groups. (iv) On Finals day the matches will be straight knock-out matches. The winner will proceed to the next round, or in the final, will be crowned winners. The overall winner of the competition will go forward to the Mapperley Sports t20 Challenge Match to play the winner of the South Nottinghamshire Cricket League t20 competition.
