38 2.2 Trophies The following trophies shall be awarded to the Champions of the respective Divisions at the end of each season, where applicable: The Worksop Guardian Cup Championship The Cliff Willmott Cup Division 1 The Wigmore Excelsior Cup Division 2 The John Hall Cup Division 3 The Bassetlaw Umpires’ Cup Division 4 The Harry A. Spencer Shield Division 5 The General Refractories Shield Division 6 The Steetley Works Cup Division 7 The Sydney Cartwright Cup Division 8 2.3 Promotion and Relegation (i) At the end of each season the top two teams in all Divisions below the Championship shall be promoted. The winner of the Championship shall be promoted to the NPL Promotion from the Championship to the NPL will be dependent on the criteria laid out by the NPL (please refer to the NPL Rules and Regulations found at www.nottspremierleague.co.uk ). Should the winner of the Championship not meet this criteria, then promotion may pass to the runners up. Promotion from Division 1 to the Championship is dependent on the criteria laid out in Rule 3.14. Should the criteria not be met by either the winner or runners up, the number of teams relegated from the Championship shall be reduced. (ii) In order to keep the number of teams in each Division as per Rule 2.1(iii), relegations will be made of the teams finishing at the bottom of each Division, up to a maximum of three. (iii) In the event of two or more teams finishing the season on the same number of points, the matter shall be resolved by the following criteria, taken in order: a) The number of matches won. b) The number of points achieved from winning draws. c) The net run rate over all completed matches. d) The toss of a coin. (iv) A team shall forfeit promotion in favour of the next eligible team if such promotion would result in a contravention of Rule 2.1(iv). (v) Should the relegation of a team result in a contravention of Rule 2.1(iv), the team in the lower Division that season shall be demoted, irrespective of its finishing position, instead of the team in the highest relegation position.
