9 Affiliations – The ECB Association of Cricket Officials 203  The ECB Association of Cricket Officials The ECB ACO came into existence on 1 January 2008 as a result of the amalgamation  of the Association of Cricket Umpires and Scorers (ACU&S) and the ECB Officials  Association (ECBOA).  The ECB ACO has as its primary role, “the training and education of all who wish to  become, and remain, cricket officials”.  To this end it has created a set of accredited  interlocking courses – ‘The Pathway’, for officials who wish to progress to officiate in  multi‐day cricket.  From the start of season 2011, the ECB ACO took complete responsibility for  officiating in the recreational game at local, regional and national levels.  The ECB ACO has the following categories of membership and is open to all Umpires  and Scorers at every level:   •  Full Members – holding DBS clearance  •  Associate Members – not active  •  Junior Members – Under 21 – holding DBS clearance  •  Overseas Members – outside the ECB  •  Honorary Members – elected by the ACO Board  Education and training is proposed following this structure:  •  5‐Level structure for Umpires and Scorers   •  Entry level and introductory courses as appropriate  •  Levels 1 to 3 based on National Standards set by Sports Officials UK  conforming to Qualifications and Curriculum Authority National  Framework  •  Tutors trained to equivalent of Certificate in Tutoring Sport standard  Administration will be through the ECBACO Office based at Lord’s.  t:  0207 432 1270  e: ecbaco@ecb.co.uk   For the latest news and information, visit the website at:  www.ecb.co.uk/ecb/ecb ‐association‐of‐cricket‐officials/  www.ecb ‐aco.org/skp/index1.html
