60 Additionally, in a fixture played after the third Saturday in August, on a Bank Holiday Monday, on a Sunday, or any other date that a more senior team has no fixture, or a fixture cancelled, a player who has only appeared at a higher level than the match being played, shall not be eligible to play. Example 1: A player has played 12 times for a clubs 1 st XI. For the following match, the player will only be eligible to play in the clubs 1 st XI. Example 2: A player has played 9 times for a clubs 1 st XI and once for a clubs 2 nd XI. For the following match, the player will only be eligible to play for the clubs 1 st XI or 2 nd XI. Example 3: A player has played 6 times for a clubs 1 st XI and 6 times for a clubs 2 nd XI. For the following match, the player will only be eligible to play in the clubs 1 st XI or 2 nd XI. Example 4: A player has played 8 times for a clubs 1 st XI, 3 times for a clubs 2 nd XI and once for a clubs 3 rd XI. For the following match, the player will only be eligible to play in the clubs 1 st XI or 2 nd XI. Example 5: A player has played 4 times for a clubs 1 st XI, 6 times for a clubs 2 nd XI and twice for a clubs 3 rd XI. For the following match, the player will only be eligible to play in either of the clubs 1 st , 2 nd XI or 3 rd XI. Any such breach will result in the player(s) being deemed as ineligible. The sanction will be determined by the LMC. 5.4 Movement (i) Category 2 and Category 3 players may not play for more than one BDCL club in a season. (ii) No player may play for a club if they have already played Saturday cricket for, or are registered with, another Saturday club, either inside or outside the BDCL, unless application is made to the Player Registrar via the BDCL ECB Play‐Cricket Registration System for a transfer. The application must be accompanied by written evidence from the player’s previous club that there are no outstanding financial issues and/or any disciplinary matters. Players will be transferred by the Player Registrar on receipt of such written confirmation. Neither club needs to remove or submit a registration. (iii) A transfer from a club within the BDCL must not be unreasonably withheld or the request will be dealt with by the LMC. A club approached by, or seeking to approach, a member of another club to move or transfer, must notify the player’s present club prior to entering into any negotiations with the player concerned. Failure by a club to comply with either will result in a ban on registering any new players other than graduates from its own youth system, the length of ban to be decided by the LMC.
