4 Constitution, Rules & Playing Conditions 31  The Bassetlaw & District Cricket League Shaded Areas denote rule changes from the previous year.  Italics denote rules which apply only to the Championship.  Constitution, Rules & Playing Conditions 1 Constitution 1.1 Name  This combination shall be known as the Bassetlaw & District Cricket League.  1.2 Purpose  To foster and promote participation in the sport of Cricket within the Bassetlaw  Community.  To organise cricket clubs who wish to participate into an  appropriate number of Divisions plus Cup Competitions and to manage these  competitions and arrangements.  1.3 Affiliation  (i)  The League requires that all clubs playing in the Bassetlaw & District Cricket  League are affiliated to the England and Wales Cricket Board through a primary  affiliation to the County Cricket Board in which they reside.  Clubs which reside  outside of Nottinghamshire are able to secure a secondary affiliation to the NCB  on a purely voluntary basis.  The League Treasurer will act as an intermediary  between clubs and the country boards, collecting all monies as required.  (ii)  The League requires that its member clubs shall ensure that members abide by  the Laws of Cricket and playing and non‐playing members abide by the Leagues  Code of Conduct which incorporates the Spirit of Cricket.  (iii) The League requires that all its member clubs shall adopt and implement the  ECB ‘Safe Hands – Cricket’s Policy for Safeguarding Children’ and any future  versions of the policy.  (iv) The League requires that all its member clubs shall adopt and implement the  ECB Cricket Equality Policy and any future versions of this policy.  1.4 Membership  (i)  Applications from clubs desiring admission to the League must be in writing and  received by the League Secretary by the last day of March in the year preceding  that in which they wish to take part.
