4 Constitution, Rules & Playing Conditions 59  (iv)  Category 3 (Exempt) – Overseas Player (Exempt) A Category 3 player will qualify under Category 3 (Exempt) if they fulfil ALL of  the following conditions:  a)  They have been resident in this country for a period of eighteen months  before the date of their request for registration.  b)  They have not been out of this country for longer than 35 days  consecutively or 70 days in total during the previous two years.  c)  Any remuneration they receive from playing cricket is not their main  source of income.  Clubs are unable to assign any player to this category.  Only the Player Registrar  can perform this task and only after receipt and acceptance of all requested  documentation.  5.3 Eligibility  (i)  Each BDCL club will be allowed to register one Category 2 or Category 3 Player.  Any such player shall be eligible to play for a club’s First Eleven, providing that  that team plays in Division 4 or above.  Therefore, NO Category 2 or Category 3 players will be permitted to play for  the following clubs:   Cuckney   Farnsfield   Mansfield Hosiery Mills   Welbeck   West Indian Cavaliers  (ii)  A Category 3 (Exempt) player may be employed by a club as a Category 2 Player.  They will be listed on the BDCL ECB Play‐Cricket Website as a Category 3  (Exempt) player but identified by the Player Registrar as a Category 2.  Rule  5.3(i) shall apply.  A Category 3 (Exempt) registered player will become a Category 1 registered  player once the residential rules have been satisfied as determined using  current ECB regulations.  (iii) A player who would ordinarily be registered within Category 3, but whose  exceptional circumstances, in the opinion of the LMC, merits inclusion within  the spirit of this rule, will be permitted to play on a purely recreational basis in  Divisions 4 or below, or a club’s second XI should they play in a higher division  (and the club does not have any additional teams), providing that they do not  contravene the second paragraph of Rule 5.2(i) a) above.
