Bassetlaw and District Cricket League Official Handbook 2018

i Foreword "Mick who?" I hear you say.  Well I have been involved with the Bassetlaw  and District Cricket League for over 45 years, both as a player and club  official, initially at Mansfield Colliery and currently at Thoresby Park.  The invitation to be the League President for 2018 came as a complete  surprise but one I was honoured and privileged to accept, both for myself  and for my club.  In keeping with tradition, I am hoping to visit as many clubs as I can and I  look forward to meeting friends old and new.  It promises to be an interesting season as we adapt to the new Laws of  Cricket as they affect us, particularly the disciplinary section.  Also let us all  continue to work hard to arrest the decline in player numbers we have  experienced.  Finally, let us hope that the weather is kind and allows us to have a full and  successful season.  Above all, win or lose, let’s enjoy this special game of  ours and play it in the right spirit.
