4 Constitution, Rules & Playing Conditions 65 7.9.2.6 The umpires shall report the occurrence as soon as possible after the match to the League Secretary who will take any further action that is considered appropriate against the captain, any other individuals concerned and, if appropriate, the team. 7.9.3 Penalties Offences at this Level will receive a ban from all cricket of at least 4 weeks and/or a fine and/or a deduction of match points. 7.10 Level 3 Offences and action by the umpires 7.10.1 Either of the following actions by a player shall constitute a Level 3 offence: 7.10.1.1 Intimidating an umpire by language and gesture. 7.10.1.2 Threatening to assault a player or any other person except an umpire. 7.10.2 If such an offence is committed, 7.10.2.1 to 7.10.2.6 shall be implemented as appropriate, according to whether it is the first offence at any Level. 7.10.2.1 The umpire shall call time if necessary. 7.10.2.2 Together the umpires shall summon and inform the offending player’s captain that an offence at this Level has occurred. 7.10.2.3 The umpire shall direct the captain to remove the offending player immediately from the field of play. The player shall be suspended for one fifth of the number of overs allocated to the innings at the commencement of the match. Any balls remaining in the over in progress at the time of suspension shall not count towards the overs for which the player is suspended. The calculation of the number of overs a player shall be removed from the field of play is determined using the following table: SO LS 36<39 8 40‐49 9 50 ‐00 10 Note: SO ‐ scheduled number of overs to be bowled at the commencement of the match LS ‐ Length of suspension • If the offending player is a fielder, no substitute shall be allowed for him/her. The offending player may return to the field of play after serving the period of suspension and may bowl immediately if in accordance with the ECB Fast Bowling Directives as laid out in Rule 3.1.4. • If a bowler is suspended mid‐over, then that over must be bowled by a different bowler, who shall not have bowled the previous over nor shall he/she bowl the next over (and must be eligible to bowl in
