28  2.5.2 No such cancellation shall be made before 10.00am on the day on which the  match is to be played.  Failure by the home club to contact the away club to seek agreement that the  game is cancelled due to adverse playing conditions, and the away team arrive  at the ground believing the game is to be played, then the sanctions stated at  Rule 2.5.6 shall apply, although no points shall be deducted from the Divisional  total of the home team.  2.5.3 All such cancellations must be agreed by the two clubs and the appointed  Umpires informed not later than two hours before the scheduled start time.  2.5.4 Unless a match is cancelled under this rule, the visiting team shall be  responsible for the payment of the teas provided for it by the home club.  2.5.5 If the away team has travelled, the appointed Umpires shall assess the ground  conditions and allow play to commence unless it is deemed dangerous.  The  Umpires shall be the sole authority in such matters.  Should there be no  appointed Umpires the Captains shall have sole authority.  If the Captains  disagree, the match shall be cancelled and the League Secretary notified.  2.5.6 Any club failing to fulfil a League engagement will be fined £10.00 and will  have ten points deducted from the total of the team concerned.  The game  shall be counted as a win, with full bonus points, for their opponents.  2.5.7 All fines collected under rule 2.5.6 shall be paid to the non‐offending club as a  reduction in subscriptions for the following season.  2.5.8 If in the opinion of the LMC, undue advantage is taken of this rule by any club,  it shall deal with it according to its discretion.  2.5.9 Any team which, having arrived at the ground along with the opposition and  the officials, that either refuses to play or concedes the game, shall be referred  to the LMC.  The minimum sanction will be that as under Rule 2.5.6.  2.6 Match Points  2.6.1 A maximum of 20 points to be available to each team in all completed matches  divided up as follows:  2.6.1.1   20 points for a win, 0 for a defeat.  When batting first, a win is achieved when the opposition is bowled out  for a lower total than they achieved.  When batting second, a win is achieved when their batting total exceeds  that of the team which batted first.  2.6.1.2   10 points for a draw for the side batting first and 2 points for the side  batting second.  2.6.1.3   6 points to each side when the scores are equal, irrespective of the  number of wickets lost.
