48  5.6  Timescales  5.6.1 Clubs will need to ensure that all new players are registered within the  following timescales:  5.6.1.1   Category 1 Players, who are to be registered to play for clubs in Division  1 and below, and all Cup Competitions, are to have their registrations  submitted and accepted prior to the first match they play.  In exceptional circumstances, and at short notice, a player may be  registered to play by contacting the BDCL Help Desk BEFORE  the start of  the match, providing the basic details for the player (full name, address  and date of birth).  The player must then have their registration  submitted and accepted prior to the scorecard being submitted.  5.6.1.2   All other players, who are to be registered to play for eligible clubs, are  to have their registrations submitted by midnight, on the Thursday prior  to the match in which they will first play.  5.6.1.3   Any player in the U12 age group and below will not be registered within  this League, unless compliant with Rule 5.1.4.  5.6.2 It is recommended, in order to reduce the possibility of sanctions that  ALL player registrations are submitted (with accompanying documentation where  stipulated) and those registrations have been accepted, before any player  participates in any match.  It is also recommended that no player born outside of the UK plays until their  registration has been accepted by the Player Registrar, unless the club are in  possession of documentation which shows the player’s entitlement to them  being registered under Category 1, and this documentation is sent to the  Player Registrar no later than midnight on the day of the match.  Clubs should be aware that it may not be possible to contact the Player  Registrar with any queries relating to player registration after 3 hours before  the scheduled start time.  If any club is unsure about the status of any player  or has any queries, the player should not play.  5.6.3 Using the registration timescales stipulated in Rule 5.6.1, clubs are to be aware  that there is no guarantee that a registration will be accepted.  It is imperative  that the club is aware of the player’s past registration history, and whether  they may have any outstanding disciplinary and/or financial and/or welfare or  safeguaeding issues which would delay or deny a player’s registration.  When a late registration is submitted and subsequently rejected, this  will result in the player(s) being deemed as unregistered and the sanction advised  under Rule 5.7.3 will apply.  5.6.4 Using the registration timescales stipulated in Rule 5.6.1.2, clubs are to ensure  that the player does not play until their registration is confirmed by the Player  Registrar.
