4 Constitution, Rules & Playing Conditions 55   The game and its traditional values  7.4.3.3   It is against the Spirit of the Game:  To dispute an Umpire’s decision by word, action or gesture   To direct abusive language towards an opponent or Umpire   To indulge in cheating or any sharp practice, for instance:  ‐  To appeal knowing that the batsman is not out  ‐  To advance towards an Umpire in an aggressive manner when  appealing  ‐  To seek to distract an opponent either verbally or by  harassment with persistent clapping or unnecessary noise  under the guise of enthusiasm and motivation of one’s own  side  7.4.3.4   Violence There is no place for any act of violence on the field of play.  7.4.3.5   Players Captains and Umpires together set the tone for the conduct of a cricket  match.  Every player is expected to make an important contribution to  this.  7.4.4 Failure to comply with the provisions of Paragraph 1 may lead to disciplinary  action, irrespective of an alleged breach being related to a match not under  the jurisdiction of the League.  7.5 Procedure  7.5.1 Any alleged breach of discipline within Levels 1 to 4 of the Laws and any other  alleged breach of the conduct, shall be reported in writing, only on the  prescribed Disciplinary Report Form, and sent to the League Secretary within  24 hours from the date of the alledged incident.  7.5.2 Any such report received by the League Secretary shall be forwarded  immediately to the Chair of the Disciplinary Sub‐Committee who will then take  the matter forward.  7.5.3 The Chair of the Disciplinary Sub‐Committee shall, following the receipt of the  report, inform the secretary of the club concerned that a report has been  made and of the process the club needs to follow.  7.5.4 Any Level 1 or Level 2 breach of the Code of Conduct should, in the first  instance, be dealt with by the participant’s club in accordance with the  guidline penalties detailed in Rule 7.8.2 and Rule 7.9.2 and the secretary of  the club shall notify the Chair of the Disciplinary Sub‐Committee within 48  hours of any action taken or proposed by the club.
