4 Constitution, Rules & Playing Conditions 57  7.8 Level 1 Offences and sanctions  7.8.1 Any of the following actions by a player shall constitute a Level 1 offence:  7.8.1.1   Wilfully mistreating any part of the cricket ground, equipment or  implements used in the match.  7.8.1.2   Dissent at an umpire’s decision by word or action.  7.8.1.3   Using language that, in the circumstances is obscene, offensive or  insulting.  7.8.1.4   Making an obscene gesture.  7.8.1.5   Appealing excessively.  7.8.1.6   Advancing towards the umpire in an aggressive manner whilst appealing.  7.8.1.7   Any other misconduct which is, in the opinion of the umpires, is  equivalent to a Level 1 offence.  7.8.2 A player reported as having committed a Level 1 offence may receive any of  the following sanctions:  7.8.2.1   A written warning as to future conduct.  7.8.2.2  A suspended ban.  7.8.2.3  A ban of up to two weeks.  7.8.2.4  A deduction or suspended decuction of points.  7.8.2.5  Any combination of the above.  7.9 Level 2 Offences and sanctions  7.9.1 Any of the following actions by a player shall constitute a Level 2 offence:  7.9.1.1   Showing serious dissent at an umpire’s decision by word or action.  7.9.1.2   Making inappropriate or deliberate physical contact with another player.  7.9.1.3   Throwing the ball at a player, umpire or another person in an  inappropriate and dangerous manner.  7.9.1.4   Using language or gesture to another player, umpire, team official or  spectator that, in the circumstances, is obscene or of a seriously insulting  nature.  7.9.1.5   Any other misconduct, the nature of which is, in the opinion of the  umpires, equivalent to a Level 2 offence.  7.9.2 A player reported as having committed a Level 2 offence may receive any of  the following sanctions:  7.9.2.1   A suspended ban.  7.9.2.2   A ban of between 3 and 8 weeks.  7.9.2.3   Suspended pointsdeduction from his/her team.  7.9.2.4   Immediate points deduction from his/her team.
