Section E P a g e | 56 7 Breaches & Reporting For clarity, all initial reports of breach of the Code of Conduct must be sent to the Secretary of the League responsible for the match. 7.1 Any participant in breach of the Code of Conduct shall be liable to penalties in the manner prescribed in the Disciplinary Regulations. 7.2 A breach of the Code of Conduct will normally be categorised as Level 1, 2, 3 or 4, as set out in Rule 6. 7.3 Reporting of Breaches by Umpires: In relation to any alleged breach of the Code of Conduct subject to a report by an umpire, the following steps must be taken: i. On the day of the alleged breach prior to leaving the ground, the reporting umpire must advise as many as possible of the player, their captain, and an executive of the player’s club, of the alleged breach. ii. As soon as reasonably practicable (and no more than 24 hours of the end of the match), the reporting umpire must notify the Secretary of the relevant League, or their nominated deputy, of the alleged breach. iii. Within 72 hours of the end of the match, the reporting umpire must submit a written report of the alleged Breach, preferably by email, using the NCDG discipline form to the Secretary of the relevant League, or their nominated deputy. iv. If the written report is available prior to leaving the ground, the reporting umpire should show to the player and their captain, who may submit comment. If the written report is not available prior to leaving the ground, the offending player shall be given a reasonable opportunity to make a response to the report. 7.4 Reporting of Breaches by Participants: i. Any allegation of a breach of the Code of Conduct by a participant made against another participant, which arises from an incident during a match or on the field of play should, if possible be reported by a team’s captain to the umpire(s). In any event, any participant may report such an alleged breach of the Code of Conduct against another participant ii. In relation to any alleged breach of the Code of Conducts subject to a report by a non-umpire participant, the following steps must be taken: a. Within 72 hours of the end of the match, the reporting participant must submit a written report of the alleged Breach, preferably by email, using the NCDG discipline form to the Secretary of the relevant League, or his nominated deputy.
