If a player sustains a minor cut or graze which can be adequately treated quickly by the use of plaster, play should be suspended briefly to allow such treatment. 2. If a player is bleeding freely he will be instructed to leave the field of play for treatment. 3. In the case of a fielder he will be entitled to have a substitute at all times. 4. In the case of a batsman he will retire hurt and return at the fall of a later wicket or retirement of a later batsman. If he is one of the last batsmen at the wicket 10 minutes will be allowed for treatment, after which the innings will be deemed closed. 123
