Cheshire Cricket League Ground Criteria 1. GROUND A mutually accepted ground size. WHERE OVERALL SIZE OF GROUND PERMITS. The minimum size should be 100 x 120 yards. 2. SQUARE Should be well maintained and in good condition with true and predictable bounce. 3. OUTFIELD Even with good drainage, closely mown with no noticeable grass cuttings. 4. BOUNDARY Clearly marked with a substantial rope or with a white line supplemented by boundary flags/markers every 20 yards. 5. SIGHTSCREENS Minimum of 1 and preferably 2 at each end of ground of suitable size and in good condition. When inside playing area a board must be used to delineate boundary. 6. SCOREBOX Separate, designated area for scoring facilities, clean, functional and offering comfortable shelter for scorers during inclement weather, with good position for viewing playing area. With clear and easily visible display (minimum TOTAL, WICKETS, LAST MAN, OVERS) for umpires, players and spectators. COVERS Mobile frame wheeled covers should be available at all times. These are to be at least 24 yards long x 10 foot wide and used in conjunction with sheeting to cover bowler’s run ups and rest of square. As an alternative approved Climacovers may be used. 7. DRYING EQUIPMENT Suitable for maintaining ground and drying up after rain. Rollermop/squeegee must be available. 8. ROLLERS A selection of rollers (at least 1 heavy motorised roller) to be available before and during matches. 9. DRESSING ROOMS Separate rooms of adequate size. Clean, comfortable and secure. Ample number of pegs/hangers and seating. Maintained in good condition and affording privacy for players. 104
