Cheshire Cricket League Match Rules 1st & 2nd XI Divisional League Championship 1. The League Championships shall be run by the Executive Committee whose duty is to ensure the efficient running of the Competitions within the framework of these rules and will:- a) Prepare League Fixtures each season. b) Ensure League Championship tables are kept accurate in a timely manner by participating clubs via the league's Play-Cricket website. c) Receive results of each match weekly and arrange publication of such in the press with the co-operation of Clubs. d) Consider and, where appropriate, impose fines for breaches of these rules. 2. The League shall organise championships for all member clubs' Saturday sides, with Divisions for 1st XIs plus Divisions for other Saturday sides, known as 2nd XI cricket, playing under the auspices of the League. Each Division shall ideally consist of 12 teams and there will be promotion and relegation annually between each Division and between other Leagues as directed by these Rules. 3. a) Clubs engaged in the Divisional League Championships shall have fixtures with all other clubs during the season with a view to playing each other twice (weather permitting) and the respective championships shall be won by the Club having scored the highest number of points at the end of the season. b) Teams in the lowest divisions may have more or less than 12 clubs in their division and may play some teams only once. c) Matches scheduled for August in the lowest level of 2nd XI cricket can be re- arranged to any date and time providing that both teams provide written agreement to the Fixtures Secretary 14 clear days before the original date of the match. The match can be re-arranged once only and if the re-arranged match is cancelled, or not completed it cannot be replayed, even on the original date. Matches can be played at any time, evenings or weekends and in one of the following formats, 80 overs Win/Lose or as a T20 match. 80
