Cheshire Cricket League Match Rules 1st & 2nd XI Divisional League Championship c) Unless solely playing for second elevens, where applicable have in all respects complied with the provisions of Rule 18. d) An overseas player shall not be eligible to participate in the League Championships if, since the 1st day of May in the year preceding the year during which his application to participate is made, he shall have played first class cricket as defined, from time to time, by the International Cricket Conference. e) No overseas player can be registered by any club after 30th June each year. f) No club may play an unregistered overseas player in any 2nd XI match without the prior approval of the Executive Committee of the League. The Executive Committee have the right at any time to require evidence and to determine any dispute regarding a player’s eligibility for registration or to continue to be registered. g) Should the last two 2nd team games of the season involve championship honours (Promotion or Relegation) no player who has played in 6 or more matches for a higher rated team, (this means in a higher division anywhere in the Cheshire Integrated League Structure) during the current season, shall be allowed to play in either, or both of these matches, unless he has played not less than 4 second team championship matches in this season. Up-to-date information concerning League positions can always be obtained from the Fixtures Secretary. h) •Additionally permission could be sought during the last two games to play a player that would otherwise be ineligible but is of the appropriate standard. •This permission will be given on the understanding that the captain must make this player known to the opposition captain. •In the case of the opposition captain thinking that this player is of a higher standard the captain can ask for a review of eligibility by the Exec. •The Exec will then look at playing history for the current season only. If the Exec finds that the player is of a higher standard and was played unfairly then the player will be deemed ineligible and the sanctions detailed in the rules will be applied accordingly. 17. Transfers may be made by: a) Written/e-mail submission to the Fixtures Secretary including where necessary clearance from a previous club prior to the player’s first appearance in the League Championship. 86
