Cheshire Cricket League Handbook 2022

Cheshire Cricket League Match Rules 1st & 2nd XI Divisional League Championship c) Promotion to any League in accordance with these provisions shall be subject to that League’s ground criteria in force at the relevant time being met and if they are not met or if for any other reason promotion to or relegation from other Leagues shall not prove possible in any season the Executive Committee, may make such other arrangements in relation to these matters as shall be deemed appropriate. d) No two teams from the same club can play in the same division. If a team is promoted or relegated to a division where the club already has a team, then in the case of regional divisions the teams may be split into different regions. If this is not possible then promotion and relegation may not be possible. 25. In the event of sides finishing equal on points in the League Championships (all Divisions) preference in respect of position or title will be given to the side gaining most wins in the relevant Championship, then if still equal the points gained in the matches between the sides will be favoured. If the sides are still equal then the title/position will shall be shared. If this does not decide promotion or relegation then the side with the highest Net Run Rate will be favoured. If the sides are still equal the side having scored the most runs in the season will be favoured. 26. Matches scheduled for August in Division C can be re-arranged to any date and time providing that both teams provide written agreement to the Fixtures Secretary 14 clear days before the original date of the match. The match can be re-arranged once only and if the re-arranged match is cancelled, or not completed it cannot be replayed, even on the original date. Matches can be played at any time, evenings or weekends in reduced overs win/lose but not less than a T20 match. 27. Suspect Bowling Actions If an umpire reports a player for a suspect action, an experienced umpire will be appointed to this player’s next match and will judge if the players action needs remedial work. The player will be banned from bowling in the meantime and the CCL will seek help from the Cheshire Cricket Board to get the players action analysed and altered. There is a facility for the player to be videoed and assessed by the Cheshire Cricket Board - this will be at the player’s/club’s expense. 91
