Cheshire Cricket League Match Rules 1st & 2nd XI League KnockOut a) The 1st XI group stage will be determined by defining groups of 4 or 3 teams that require the minimal amount of travelling. Each team will play each other earning 4 points for a win, 2 points for a tie and 2 points for an abandoned game. ⦁ Group stage games will have a scheduled date as 2019 season. Games must be played on this date ⦁ If a T20 group stage match cannot be played on the scheduled day due to inclement weather, then clubs are allowed to re-arrange this game before the cut off for the next match. ⦁ The rescheduled game must be organised and notified to the Umpires’ Association within 48 hours. ⦁ Re-scheduling the game for any other reason will be at the discretion of the Exec but would NOT normally be allowed. b) The Winner of each group will go forward into the knockout competition to play as detailed in the fixtures. The runner-up in each group shall go forward to play in the Plate competition as detailed in the fixtures. c) In the 1st XI group stage if the top two placed teams are tied on the same points, the result of the group stage match between the two teams will be used to decide placings. If 3 or more teams finish on the same points, or 2 teams cannot be separated then Net Run Rate will be used to decide the final placings based on all group games. If this still fails to determine first and second place then a draw will be held by the League Executive committee to determine the placings. 12. Subject to special conditions incorporated in these rules, all matches must be played under the ‘Laws of Cricket’ as laid down by the M.C.C. at the time. In addition, the League has, for all matches played under its auspices, adopted the ECB Fast Bowling Directive, the ECB Safety Guidance on the Wearing of Cricket Helmets by Young Players and ECB Guidelines for Junior Players in Open Age Cricket. 96
