Cheshire Cricket League Handbook 2023

Cheshire Cricket League Match Rules 1st & 2nd XI Divisional League Championship b) In all League matches, clubs must satisfy the ECB Fast Bowling Directive (detailed later in this book) for players aged under 19 as at prior 1st September. c) In all League matches bowlers are restricted to a maximum of 25% of the number of overs available at the start of an innings. In the event of a weather delays resulting in a reduction of overs then the bowling limitations are further reduced in line with the new overs for the innings. If any bowler has already bowled more overs than this new limit then that bowler cannot bowl any more overs but can complete any over in progress when the match was delayed. The maximum number of overs per bowler can be calculated as follows: Available Overs / 4 = xx.yy e.g. 39 overs/4 = 9.75, xx=9 and yy=75 if yy=75: 3 bowlers (XX+1) overs, 1 bowler (xx) overs if yy=50: 2 bowlers (XX+1) overs, 2 bowlers (xx) overs if yy=25: 1 bowler (XX+1) overs, 3 bowlers (xx) overs if yy=00: 4 bowlers (xx) overs e.g. 39 overs/4 = 9.75, xx=9 and yy=75 3 bowlers (xx+1 = 9+1 = 10) and 1 bowler(xx = 9) d) The responsibility for ensuring compliance with these restrictions and the Fast Bowling restrictions for young players lies with the fielding side captain. Failure to observe these restrictions will result in a 2 point penalty for each excess over bowled and may lead to disciplinary action being taken against the fielding side captain. 79
