Cheshire Cricket League Match Rules 1st & 2nd XI Divisional League Championship 5. The League shall organise annually a bulk purchase of ‘Grade A’ cricket balls of a make to be decided by the Executive Committee. This bulk purchase is a joint arrangement with the CCCL to maximise purchasing leverage and obtain the best possible prices. Clubs will bge instructed to purchase these balls from whichever League their 1st XI is playing in during the coming season. Clubs must use these balls in all Championship matches and shall bowl with their own ball. In 1st XI cricket the ball used must be new at the start of each innings. A team that breaks this rule will suffer a deduction of 5 points. 6. In all matches played under the auspices of the League players must appear in traditional, predominantly white, clothing. All such clothing and all club kit must be in a clean and presentable condition. 7. All matches in the Cheshire Cricket League shall consist of 90 (80 overs in 2nd XI Cricket) six-ball overs with each innings consisting of 45 overs (40 overs in 2nd XI cricket) maximum. All matches shall start at 1:00pm prompt or at a time specified by the Executive Committee, except for matches in September, which will start at 12:30pm prompt. The start time of any match may be moved forward up to one hour with the agreement of BOTH sides. Such changes must be notified to the Competition Secretary and the Umpires Appointments Secretary a minimum of 7 days prior to the match. 8. If for any reasons a bowler is unable to complete an over, that over shall be completed by another player. Both these partial overs shall count against each bowler’s allotment of overs. This player shall not have bowled the previous over and may not bowl the following over. Any over commenced and not completed for any reason at the end of an innings shall be deemed to have been completed. 9.a) If either competing team is not ready to commence at the scheduled time of commencement (vide Rule 6) or after any interval or stoppage of play (vide Rules 11 and 13) they may be reported to the Executive Committee.
