Cheshire Cricket League Handbook 2023
Cheshire Cricket League Match Rules 1st & 2nd XI Divisional League Championship b) In the event of a club abandoning or using inclement weather rules unfairly in a League championship fixture points may be awarded to their opponents at the discretion of the League Executive Committee. c) In the event of a delayed start due to inclement conditions, and once 15 minutes have elapsed from the scheduled start, two overs shall be deducted from the total number to be played for every complete 7 minutes lost. One over deducted from each innings. d) No more than 40 overs can be lost to inclement conditions before play commences as each innings must consist of minimum 25/20 overs for 90/80 over cricket respectively. The latest start time is therefore 3 hrs 5 mins after the scheduled start time. ((20 overs x 7 minutes = 140) + 15 + 30 (early tea)). e) After the game has commenced subsequent stoppages reduce the innings by one over per side for each 7 mins lost until such time as the side batting first have used up half the overs, or more, of the reduced game length. Once that position has been reached any subsequent lost time will result in overs being taken off the team batting second on the basis of one over reduction for each additional 3.5 minutes of lost time. In any weather impacted situation at the interval between innings and after any subsequent lost time events, Duckworth-Lewis-Stern Method is used to determine the new par score and the revised target score for the win. If the team batting second does not get to continue their innings and each side has batted a minimum of 20 overs then DLS is used to decide the result, otherwise the match is abandoned. f) The Cheshire Cricket League has adopted the Play Cricket scorer app to calculate the DLS par score. No other App is allowed and it is the captain's responsibility to ensure they have access to the app and the knowledge to use it. 83
