Cheshire Cricket League Handbook 2023
Cheshire Cricket League Match Rules 1st & 2nd XI Divisional League Championship b) If a team is considered to have played an unregistered player, the normal outcome will be loss of 5 points on the first occasion, 10 points on the second occasion and 15 points on the third and any following occasions. 20. Prior to the toss taking place the Captain (or Vice-Captain) of the home team shall represent his club on the question of the "fitness of ground for play". However, the opposing team Captain (or Vice-Captain) can insist that both teams assemble at the venue for a late inspection to be made. If one or more panel umpires are appointed, then they will decide on fitness to play, otherwise the home club shall have the ultimate right to make decisions upon the fitness of their own ground. In order to allow the opportunity for this right to be exercised, if the opposing Captain (or Vice-Captain) cannot be contacted for any reason, both teams must assemble at the venue. In the event of having informed the opposing club that play is not possible, but the away team insist upon travelling and no play takes place, then the AWAY team shall be responsible for paying both appointed umpires. In these circumstances, if the match is subsequently played then the HOME team shall be responsible for paying both appointed umpires. 87
