Cheshire Cricket League Handbook 2023

Cheshire Cricket League Match Rules 1st & 2nd XI Divisional League Championship 26. Matches scheduled for August in Division C can be re-arranged to any date and time providing that both teams provide written agreement to the Competition Secretary 14 clear days before the original date of the match. The match can be re-arranged once only and if the re-arranged match is cancelled, or not completed it cannot be replayed, even on the original date. Matches can be played at any time, evenings or weekends in reduced overs win/lose but not less than a T20 match. 27. Suspect Bowling Actions If an umpire reports a player for a suspect action, an experienced umpire will be appointed to this player’s next match and will judge if the players action needs remedial work. The player will be banned from bowling in the meantime and the CCL will seek help from the Cheshire Cricket Board to get the players action analysed and altered. There is a facility for the player to be videoed and assessed by the Cheshire Cricket Board - this will be at the player’s/club’s expense. 28. 1st XI Player Registration In addition to eligibility and transfer rules detailed previously all 1st XI players for Divisions 1-2 must be registered on Play-Cricket at least 24 hours before the scheduled start of a match. Play-Cricket guidance is available on the play- cricket website and includes GDPR advice. In the case of registering a transferred player the player must provide a link to their previous play-cricket details. If the player has no play-cricket details then the club must make every effort to understand the players playing history and comply with rules 17, 18 and 19 for eligibility and transfer of a player. 29. 30-Yard Fielding Circle Normal fielding circles at a radius of 30 yards centred on the two middle stumps must be clearly marked out prior to the match. A maximum of 5 fielders can be placed outside the circle for the duration of the innings. • Where appointed umpires are standing then an infringement of this rule will result in a no ball being called by the umpire but will not result in a free hit. • Where there are no appointed umpires the fielding captain will be required to ensure that the fielding side obeys the rule. The batting captain/team can point out infringements before the ball is bowled but this does not result in a no ball. Claiming an infringement after the ball is bowled is not allowed. • There will be no power plays. 91
