13 IBWEST Cup 1. Entry Compulsory for all Midweek teams. 2. Fee £3, thanks to IBWEST sponsorship. 3. Handicap There will be a handicap of five runs per division. In the event of a match reduced in overs, the runs of the lower division team are to be reduced proportionately. Example 1: 1st Division v 3rd Division Over 20 x 6 ball overs = 10 runs start Example 2: 1st Division v 3rd Division Over 15 x 6 ball overs = 3/4 of 10=7.5 runs, rounded up to 8 runs start Example 3: 1st Division v 3rd Division Over 10 x 6 ball overs = 1/2 of 10= 5 runs start 4. Cancellation At any stage of the competition, if bad weather/light intervenes and re-arrangement of a tie proves impossible, a bowl-out shall be undertaken, in preference to the toss of a coin. The bowl-out shall take place at three stumps – on the square, the outfield, or in the nets (if available), as agreed by the captains. Five players shall be nominated from each side, bowling in turn. If a definite result has still to be achieved after these five have bowled, “sudden death” shall apply with the remaining team members bowling in turn until a result is achieved. If things still remain level, the above procedure shall be repeated until a winner emerges. A fully completed result sheet must be submitted as follows and the “cup-tied” rule will apply to the players named on the results sheet. 5. Players No player shall play for more than one team or club. If a club has two teams then the player must play for the team he is registered to. All players should be registered by July 8 th , in line with league rules. 6. Result Sheets The winning team must phone the result to the Cup Secretary within 24 hours of each tie. This call need only state which team won and the respective team scores. The winning team shall post or email a completed scoresheet to arrive with the Cup Secretary within 72 hours of the tie. Fines shall apply for non-compliance. 7. Disputes Any disputes will be adjudicated by the Cup Secretary. If his decision does not give satisfaction, an appeal shall be made within 24 hours. The matter will then be dealt with by the League Chairman and/or other Committee members, whose decision shall be binding. 8. Date of Matches Dates and venues for first round matches will be set by League officials. Deadlines for the completion of each subsequent round shall to be decided by the League ahead of the season and strictly adhered to. Home and away teams shall be equally responsible for arranging ties to comply with the deadlines for rounds and of informing the League of any delays or difficulties being experienced. The League shall then investigate and rule accordingly.
