Method of Scoring Points Points can be scored in two ways a) From the result of the match b) From collecting batting and bowling points after reaching the thresholds listed below A tied match shall be defined as a match where two teams finish with equal runs scored. An interrupted match shall be defined as one where because of interruptions by the weather, both teams have not reached their allotted overs and no definite result has emerged. An outright win shall be defined as either ;- • The team batting first scores the most runs and dismisses the team batting second. • The team batting second scores most runs and dismisses the team batting first, or the team batting first declares. • A win shall be defined as the team scoring the most runs irrespective of wickets lost. • A cancelled game shall be defined as when a game has not started. For an outright win – 20 points For a win – 10 points plus any bonus points achieved The losing team will gain batting / bowling bonus points as described below. For an interrupted match – 5 points for each team plus any bonus points achieved For a cancelled game – 5 points for each team Bonus points Batting – A team attaining each specified score shall be awarded 1 bonus point . The specified scores shall be 60, 80, 100, 120, 140 runs . The maximum number of batting bonus points available is 5 . Bowling – A team attaining each specified number of wickets shall be awarded 1 bonus point. The specified wickets shall be 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 . The maximum number of bowling points available is 5 In the event of two or more sides being equal on points in a division then the head to head tool (as set out in the final paragraphs of Rule 25 Promotion and Relegation) will be used to finalise league standings. 14. Cancellation of Matches No match shall be cancelled due to adverse weather before 11am on the day of the match unless authority is obtained from the League Secretary. For council pitches see rule 29. 15. Hours and Conditions of Play 15.1. Sunday League Punctuality is essential. All matches shall commence at 11am Clubs wishing to start at any other time may do so by mutual consent, but must notify the Sunday Secretary at least seven days before the match.The time allowed from the start of any match is 4 hours 15 minutes. Games shall be of a maximum of 25 six ball overs per side and a minimum of 10 six-ball overs per side duration, to be decided by the captains before the match. Failing agreement, the maximum number of overs shall be played. In case of rain, stumps shall not be drawn before 1hour 30 minutes after the agreed start time without the consent of both captains. The interval between innings shall be 15 minutes duration. In matches in the Sunday League, bowlers shall be limited to a maximum of 5 overs each or 20% of the overs in a reduced game.
