l J"' •• ( ! •' HARRY POUGHER Having established its position as one of the leading competitio~ in Britain, the Lincolnsnire League is, understand– ably, a severe test of individual ability. Therefore, it is a truly remarkable achievement for any one person to dominate the batting honours over three con– secutive seasons. That Harry Pougher has, over that t ime and at two different clubs, maintained his leading position is a tribute not on ly to his obvious batting ability but to his temperament which has become a well-lknown feature of his play whether in League, Rothman Cup or Minor Counties cricket. Harry's performances have resulted in him ,0- <1.th – ering many runs over the t hree years <. g which he has held the G. R. Smith Cup, on be– half of Appleby Frodingham, where he emerged as a young player, and Lincoln Bucyrus'~'ith whom he has played for two seasons. Hb nas also played a prominent role in the performances of Lincolnshire and the Lincolnshire League in their respective successes of recent years.
