LIncolnshire County Cricket League Handbook 1972

ROYCE FRISBY v' The death of Royce Frisby almost immediately after Christmas was a shock to everyone and a great loss to each of the Lincolnshire cricket– ing bodies on which he had served as an administrator. The Lincolnshire League itself owes a good deal to Royce for its foundation. He worked hard for the formation of the League and was, in fact, its first Chairman and later became a Life Honorary Vice-President. His active interest, support and work in similar high offices were of most important value to the Lincolnshire County Cricket Club and the Grimsby and District Cricket League in which he had played with distincton for Grimsby ~ Town in his younger days . It is doubtful whether there was a more whole– hearted supporter of the game in the County than Royce Frisby, a fact illustrated b• 1-iis presence on the Committees of so many r– ent cricketing organisations even at the time of his death . His noticeable absence will be a sad feature of the 1972 Season.
